USF Botanical Gardens Tampa Orchid Club Show and Sale
Description: Join the Tampa Orchid Club for their annual Orchid Show and Sale held at the USF Botanical Gardens October 30, 31 and November 1. Friday, Oct. 30 Noon - 4pm; Saturday, Oct. 31 9am - 5pm; Sunday November 1 10am - 4pm. Orchid Lectures on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Many orchid vendors will be on hand with beautiful orchids and orchid supplies for sale. Description: The Humanities Institute is proud to present guest speaker Wendy Rawlings (University of Alabama) for a discussion of her recent novel, The Agnostics. Rawlings will meet with students for an informal session and reading of her novel at 1:30 p.m. in CPR 355. Her main event will kick off at 3 p.m. with a reception featuring light refreshments and snacks. Talk begins at 3:30 p.m.

Description: The Humanities Institute welcomes guest speaker Ezra Cappell (University of Texas at El Paso) to USF for a discussion on "American Talmud: What is Jewish about Jewish American Fiction." Dr. Cappell recently published American Talmud: The Cultural Work of Jewish American Fictions. This event, co-sponsored by the Department of World Languages, will feature a reception at 11:30 a.m. Following the light refreshments and snacks, Dr. Cappell's talk will begin at noon.
