StepOut: Walk to Fight Diabetes

Friends, neighbors, family members and co-workers will team up with the American Diabetes Association for a morning of exercise, healthy living information, music, food and fun! We will be walking on the beautiful University of South Florida Tampa Campus where the first Outpatient Diabetes Clinical Center Research Hospital is being planned in Florida. All of this while raising funds for research, education, and awareness programs that the American Diabetes Association provides for more than a quarter of a million Tampa Bay area residents with diabetes.
This year we will have a Wellness Center and a family tent with entertainment for children. The beginning of the walk and registration will take place at Simmons Park on the University of South Florida Tampa Campus. The cross streets are Beard and Magnolia.

Climate Change Adaptibility Workshop

| Description: |
Co-organized with the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission and the Dutch water sector, the November 18 workshop will feature Dutch and local experts discussing climate change adaptation from the perspectives of land use, transportation, water, energy, emergency management and cyberinfrastructure sectors. This second workshop follows the highly successful first Dutch Dialogue meeting last June which helped advance the climate change adaptation discussion in Tampa Bay. The November workshop will lead up to a multi-day event in Spring 2010, The Dutch Dialogues of Tampa Bay (similar to the New Orleans Dutch Dialogues), being planned with the Dutch Water Sector and the American Planning Association.
